Stepper Starter-Kit

Starter kit stepper motor control

- Not for new developments -

Small multitasking computers make it possible: up to 8 stepper motors controlled by one BASIC-Tiger™ or TINY-Tiger Computer™

With this concept, flexible and cost-effective drives can be realized. A fully equipped starter kit is available for a quick start.

Software drivers are used for this purpose, which provide pulse groups of defined frequency and length as well as directional information for each channel. By joining such pulse groups, precisely definable motion sequences are created under the control of the BASIC-Tiger computer module.

This method is suitable for stepper drives with pulse frequencies from 0 Hz up to several kHz. Depending on the choice of stepper power drivers, it is possible to run in full step and also half / quarter / eighth step mode. The advantage of this configuration is the cost-effective and flexible constellation of such a control.

The multitasking computer used typically handles other tasks besides motor control, such as measurement acquisition, operator interface with LCD + keyboard, communication and other digital or analog I/O operations.

For a quick start, a stepper starter kit is available that contains all components:

Prototyping board with TINY-Tiger multitasking computer Air-cooled power driver for stepper motor 1 stepper motor, 72 steps / U, incl. various scales for position and motion control Development environment with multitasking BASIC compiler as well as documentation and easy to follow example programs.

Only a Windows PC as development computer and a 12 - 24 V (laboratory) power supply for the motor are still needed.
