Embedded computer in small modules

Tiger-Multitasking™ microcontroller in design "A", for which most functions and options are available. This module form is also the basis for other Tiger module series (TCAN-Tiger™, Ethernet and Internet Tiger).

Tiger-Multitasking™ - highly stable control computers for industrial applications, instruments, plant controls and quality assurance tasks. Tiger-Multitasking™ is characterized by an excellent price/performance ratio, fast-running programs and exemplary flexibility. Hundreds of functions, device drivers and applications for recurring tasks are available and significantly shorten the development process.

The effort required for debugging alone - often the biggest time eater even in medium-sized projects - is reduced to a minimum if modules that have been tested thousands of times can be used. Likewise code length and expenditure of time melt away, if with one or few BASIC lines already extensive functionality can be activated.

For example, Text and Graphic LCDs: Connection of a variety of LCD types is 1:1 to a Tiger Multitasking™ computer and requires no components other than a contrast potentiometer. Text, images, graphics, and even motion graphics displays and small movie sequences can be presented without requiring a Graphic card or other interfaces. Displays on LCDs can be designed with impressive brilliance and expressiveness without adding cost to the production product. Additional, immediately visible product benefits for any application with operator interface.

Or the use of touch panels for intuitive user input. No touch panel controller is needed, because the BASIC-Tiger™ can read and evaluate the current coordinates directly with the help of some resistors and transistors. Cost << 1 Euro. Similarly for keyboard matrices, stepper motors, smart media FLASH cards, CAN bus connection ... and many more.

BASIC-Tiger, TINY-Tiger and Econo-Tiger in the 3rd generation

  • are manufactured as 1:1 replacements in the same housing and pin compatible
  • 5.0V VCC
  • 3.3 volt technology / 5 volt tolerant - 3.3 volt or 5 volt operation possible
  • and programmed with a new compiler version (source code compatible)

Features:

  • about 41 x 62 x 12 mm, 48g, 46-Pin
  • up to 2MB SRAM
  • up to 4MB FLASH for program and data
  • SRAM Battery Backup Input: 3...3.6V
  • Clock with alarm/wakeup output
  • 38 universal I/O: 4x analog-In, digital I/Os, 2PWM, pulse, 2x serial, expansion bus
  • modular expandable up to 4096 channels
  • up to 100,000 BASIC instructions/s
  • 5V / 50mA @full speed, 100µA @Sleep
  • 0…+70°C, industrial: -20…+85°C, Coolbase

The BASIC-Tiger™ already has 38 universal I/O lines in the module, which can be expanded almost at will. The XPort system of the Tiger supports the extension up to 4096 I/Os and if required a multiplicity of Tiger computers can be interconnected to an array of processors.

Tiger Multitasking™ computers are used in:

  • custom designs
  • Series products
  • Research projects
  • Industrial controls
  • Communication systems
  • Medical technology ... and much more.

Matching the Tiger Multitasking™ Computer Modules, there are I/O Expansion Modules as well as a Eurocard system for the flexible and cost-effective construction of industrial control systems with standard components.
